More About Me
The Full Story
I
have spent most of my working life in magazine and book publishing, developing long-lasting relationships with authors and agents.
As a professional editor of more than 100 published titles and a student of the current digital publishing landscape, I understand the entire gamut of disciplines involved in preparing a book for market.
I am well-versed and up to date on the industry-standard style guides: The Chicago Manual of Style (17th Edition) for book publishing, and The Associated Press Stylebook (56th Edition) for news and periodical publishing.

I offer a full range of editing services to authors of nonfiction, autobiographies, and memoirs, including:

-
Editorial Assessments,
-
Content Editing,
-
Copy Editing,
-
Developmental Editing, and
-
Proofreading.
Mission
Gone are the days when publishing houses kept full rosters of proofreaders and editors to fine-tune manuscripts. The digital age has shifted the burden of well-edited books to the author.
These days, a poorly edited manuscript is a rejected manuscript.
My editorial mission is to ease the burden of authors as their collaborator and champion. I aim to simplify the process for them, letting them focus on their role as author while helping them deliver a book with its best chances for publishing success.
My pledge to clients is to uphold what I have found to be the 10 core values for excellence in nonfiction editing and publishing:

-
clarity,
-
honesty,
-
discernment,
-
factual accuracy,
-
stylistic consistency,
-
grammatical correctness,
-
a sense of order and organization,
-
time sensitivity,
-
humanity, and
-
integrity.
